The James Denman Middle School PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) welcomes you to our community site, where we share family-related news, information about the PTSA and our events, how to participate in the community, and ways to donate to programs that benefit our students and staff.
Looking for information from our wonderful administration? Hop over to the Denman page at the SFUSD website.
Thanks to your bids and donations, we raised over $2,180, about ⅔ of our auction goal, which helped us meet our fundraising goal for the year—which we increased by 20% from the start of the year! Every bid helps the PTSA help Denman do more for our students.
We could not have done it without the generous items donated by businesses, organizations, and individuals—thank you! Please check them out and consider patronizing their establishments. ❤️
PS: Our auction volunteers are graduating with their kids. To keep this new tradition going next year, contact team@denmanptsa.org!
It's easy to make a difference at Denman Middle School. All levels of involvement, big and small, are needed and appreciated.
Fill out our interest form to share anything you'd like to participate in, and we'll contact you with reminders about volunteering and joining the PTSA over the summer.
Also, visit this page to learn how to connect with other families on social media and our community group platform, groups.io.
The Step Up program provides incoming students with a smooth transition to middle school.
Activities include learning the school layout and bell schedule, meeting teachers, and making new friends.
Sign-up info will be emailed to incoming families—check your inbox!
We invite participation in committees, which are small groups that help with PTSA operations:
Volunteer Committee: be notified first of volunteer needs and think of people who could help
Membership Committee: promote the benefits of PTSA membership
Nominating Committee: in January and February, recruit Executive Board members for the next school year
Budget Committee: estimate how much we'll raise and prioritize our spending
Fundraising Committee: brainstorm, solicit donations, or plan/run fundraising events
Grants Committee: vote on whether to fund staff program grant applications several times a year
Financial Review Committee: 2x/year, ensure that the Financial Reviewer examined our records properly
Next year, middle schools and high schools will be transitioning away from paper to digital report cards. Elementary schools have already transitioned.
This means that you must have an active ParentVUE account.
See the one-pager for more information.
